Here are some commonly asked questions about paintless dent removal.

Q: What is paintless dent repair (PDR)?

A: PDR is a way to fix automotive dents without the need to paint the damaged panel. Technicians gain access from behind the panel and massage the dent back to its original shape using specially designed tools.

Q: What are the advantages of PDR?

A: PDR is affordable and also faster than the typical way a body shop would repair it. When you choose PDR, there is no Bondo, sanding, or painting done to your car. By removing your vehicle's dents prior to a sell or trade, the resale value will be higher.

Q: How long does PDR take?

A: It always depends on the damage, but PDR can be an extremely efficient option. A typical door ding caused by a shopping cart, sports ball, or random objects can be repaired in a timely way, usually less than an hour. Hail damage and more serious repairs can take 1-3 days.

Q: Can I watch the repair?

A: Usually, no. Our insurance policy prohibits customers from being in the shop during repairs.

Q: Can I fix dents on my own?

A: We do not recommend it. PDR technicians have the best tools and have refined their skills to perfect the "art" of dent repair. If you attempt to fix the dent, you may damage the panel beyond the point of repair.

Q: Should I contact my insurance company?

A: Yes, we do recommend getting in touch with your insurance company. Hail damage repair can be expensive. Your agent will have to look at the car and write up an estimate before any repairs begin.

When you bring your car to us, we will write our own estimate. If there is a difference in cost, we will work with your insurance company to get supplemental payment.

Q: Where Do I Get A Claim Number?

A: Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just jot it down and bring it in with you when you come in to begin the repair process, we will do the rest.

Q: Can You Match The Paint Color?

A: Today's modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. We have  made a major investment in the finest paint system available and constantly upgrades its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the restoration process.

Q: Can I Get A Ride Home When I Drop Off My Car?

A: Yes, we would be happy to provide this service to you. We want each customer's visit to be a positive experience and will work diligently towards that goal.  We provide a pickup and delivery service.

Q: How Can I Get A Rental Car?

A: Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant.  Check your policy and/or call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your specific limitations are.

Q: Is There A Warranty On The Repair To My Vehicale?

A: Yes. We guarantee all repairs with a Lifetime Warranty.

Q: Do I Have To Pay My Deductible?

A: The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy.   If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your insurance agent.

Q: Who Do I Have To Pay My Deductible To?

A: It will be your responsibility to pay us when you pick up your vehicle. If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your insurance agent.

Q: Do I Have The Rights To Select The Shop That Will Repair My Car?

A: Yes. You can choose Total Collision & Glass regardless of whether it is on your insurance provider’s preferred list. Just drop your vehicle off at Total Collision & Glass and notify your insurance company.

Q: Do I Have To Get More Than One Estimate?

A: Generally, you do not need to get estimates from multiple repair centers. However, your insurance company may need to inspect the damage. If they have a drive-in claims service and your car is in driving condition, make an appointment to have your damage evaluated. Be sure to ask for a copy of their estimate and bring it with you to Total Collision & Glsss.  If your agent tells you to obtain multiple estimates, talk to your insurance claims department to confirm their requirements.

Q: Do I Need To Make An Appointment To Get A Repair Estimate?

A: The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy.   If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your insurance agent.

Q: How Long Will The Repair Take?

A: Your account manager will provide an estimate based on the damage to your vehicle. Occasionally, once the repair process has begun, unforeseen conditions may arise that require additional parts or time. We will keep you informed every step of the way and will work with you to get you back up and running as soon as we can.

Q: Will The Repairs Start Immediately After I Drop Off My Car?

A: We work to get your vehicle back to you as soon as possible. Your collision consultant can provide an estimate of when the work will be completed.
